Interesting start that turned into a terrible mess.Major Spoilers:Major items I didn’t like:1. Easily Killing possessed children without trying to save them2. Fantine- friendship would’ve been a good idea to continue instead of turning her into an evil psychopath. Complete 180 without reasoning.I mean we even had mention of scars on her back. There was a story there and a beginning of a good friendship, but nope behead her on her birthday. Granted that was after the author destroyed her character by making her stupid evil.3. The two main characters have no future together so stop throwing the romance at us since see above with fantine. Therefore the main characters should never be together because fantine was trying to break the succubus curse and she killed her without hesitation for it.4. Main character doesn’t care about others she easily kills when she could save.So disappointed…..series could’ve been good, but nope. Spoiler Alert---You’ve Been Warned---Spoiler AlertCat is a police officer who watched her human partner die and is transferred out of human policing to the “PIG” division where Supernatural’s or “Sups” police their own kind.Started out with a great premise, but absolutely could not live up to the hype of what they were attempting to establish in their storyline.For one, there’s a scene where Cat and Sawyer are visiting a witch to get information on a vampire they’re chasing and the Witch wants first, Cat’s opal pendant, which Cat says no, but then the witch demands blood and because one of the child-vamps in the story bit Cat, they want to use her blood to enhance the spell the witch is going to do and not just a little bit. It has to be a “deep wound” and at first Cat says no, but not just no, but hell-no, but then Sawyer steps in, makes her feel guilty and because she’s nothing but a lowly human and female Cat gives in and let’s them bleed her.That was the final straw for me. The book is just stupid. The main female lead has no self confidence, let’s herself be pushed around, and spends more time admiring Sawyers body then she does just solving the case and earning her back into “human” policing.The story just doesn’t hold up. I won’t be reading the sequels.
